Let’s be honest. When you think of a sorority, you think of women in college. But we vowed to be Kappas beyond our college days and into the lives of families and careers.
Whether it’s to network, make new friends or find someone to support you through parenthood, we’re here and we want to help. Reconnect with Kappa by joining your local alumnae association today.
1. Our members represent a wealth of diversity through their undergraduate chapters, chosen professions, ages, and interests.
2. Membership in WMAA gives you opportunities to connect with other members of Kappa Kappa Gamma from all walks of life.
3. We continue to choose to step up and educate ourselves on current national and international issues ~ we strive to be a voice for positive change in our communities and world.
4. Our active Book Club meets at least 9 times per year and reads a variety of genres and authors
5. We support a variety of local philanthropies ~ the Peace House, the Christian Center, the local food pantry, and Best Friends (Animal Sanctuary).
6. We plan a variety of activities (social and/or philanthropic) that are both fun and have personal relevance and meaning for our members.
7. We have participated in Holiday Sharing every single year since we pursued our charter as an association (fall of 2005). This meaningful and fun event allows us to support a Kappa sister facing challenging and unexpected life circumstances.
8. We have celebrated Founders Day each year since our Founding as an association. This allows us to gather together to honor one another as well as celebrate Kappa’s nearly 154 years of heritage.

11. We seek out ways in which to incorporate our beautiful Kappa ritual into our meetings and events.
12. When you join the Wasatch Mountains Alumnae Association a donation is made, in your name, to the Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation.
13. Paying your dues allows you to be in good standing with the Fraternity because we submit your per capita fees to HQ on your behalf.
14. We support our local Kappa Chapter, Delta Eta (University of Utah). We support the women with their recruitment, initiation, philanthropies, educational programming, and by role modeling alumnae life for undergraduate Kappas.
15. Our members have opportunities to utilize and hone leadership skills by serving on the Executive Board of our Association, Advisory Board for the local chapter, the House Board for the local chapter, or in an appointed or elected Fraternity position.
16. We create opportunities for deep, lasting friendships full of meaning and sisterhood.
17. We have members who have served the Fraternity or the Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation in appointed and elected leadership positions at the national level.
18. We celebrate our dues paying members’ birthdays with a celebratory “Shout Out” on our Facebook Group ~ who doesn’t like to have an extra celebration?
19. Above all, as Kappa sisters we support one another in good times and through challenging circumstances.
It isn’t “I was a Kappa” but “I AM a Kappa” - membership in Kappa Kappa Gamma is for a lifetime and we are here for all of it!
