Local Philanthropy

"Kappas cultivate social responsibility by giving time, talents and treasures to serve the greater good."

Kappa Cares

Kappa Kappa Gamma has always had others in her heart, her families and their friends, as well as those who aren’t as fortunate as we are.

When we chartered as an Association 18 years ago, it was important to our members that we be very philanthropically involved. We have honored that request each year and have not only supported Kappa’s national philanthropies but also local organizations as well. Kappa Kappa Gamma was founded 150 years ago on the principles of integrity, respect, and regard for others.  In 2021, Fraternity Council announced that:

“Kappa Kappa Gamma is embarking on a new philanthropic purpose to

support mental health and well-being. While we are proud of the nearly

two decades of work we’ve done with Reading Is Fundamental, we feel

it is time for Kappa to focus on a pressing societal need that is deeply

impacting everyone. We will shift our efforts to mental health and well-being.

We believe mental health is a key part of health for every individual, and

we are determined to help everyone we serve understand and embrace the role

of mental health and well-being in achieving their potential.”

Over our Association’s existence, we have primarily supported two Park City-based organizations: the Peace House and the Christian Center. Both amazing organizations have mental health support and awareness as part of their mission statements and operations. Prior to Fraternity Council making the announcement that Kappa Kappa Gamma had changed its national philanthropic focus, we had specifically requested that our donations be earmarked for their mental health programs. WMAA has exemplified the very best of Kappa sisterhood through our ongoing support of women through our engagement and donations.

Other philanthropies we have worked with include:

- Strut Your Mutt (Partnered with SLC)

- Local food pantries

- Reading is Fundamental

- Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation
